Psychedelic therapy in New Mexico

Medical Psilocybin Act (SB 219) was signed into law in April 2025, creating a medical psilocybin program for PTSD, treatment-resistant depression, substance use disorder and end-of-life care. Rule-making is in progress; first licensed practitioners expected in 2026. Ketamine and Spravato widely available.

Albuquerque and Santa Fe have a small but established clinic footprint, including several integrative and indigenous-led practices.

Spravato

UNM Health and Presbyterian Behavioral Health operate REMS sites.

Psilocybin

Program authorized but not yet operational. Applications for the Advisory Board opened in late 2025. Patients must have a qualifying condition and work with a licensed practitioner.
